Philanthropy
Alpha Delta Pi’s national philanthropy is the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill children while they are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
Our chapter sends groups of 5-10 sisters twice a week to the Ronald McDonald House of Durham. While there, the groups participate in activities with the children (mostly siblings of those in the hospital), cook dinner for the families, clean parts of the house, decorate for holidays, or just enjoy the company of the current residents.
Zeta Beta holds two annual philanthropy events for RMH. Last fall ADPi held a Pig Pickin’ tailgate at an NC State football game raising approximately $9,000. This past spring, Zeta Beta planned its annual Ron-A-Thon, an area 5K run on NC State’s Centennial Campus.
In addition to semester philanthropy fundraisers, the sisters of ADPi also volunteer in the community with events such as Relay for Life, the Krispy Kreme Challenge, and the Frankie Lemmon School.
